Dear Jehovah’s Witness,

I would like to write you a letter and let you know why I cannot agree with your teachings. There are many areas in which we disagree and I have listed some very specific items later in this letter. Please read this entire letter because it will be quite an eye opener for you and hopefully give you some better insight into your own belief.

Yes, there are many areas of disagreement between us and our beliefs but, to me the biggest error of yours is that you take the deity away from Jesus and make Him the brother of Lucifer. You reduce Jesus to an angel and twist scriptures to make your doctrine and that is the biggest danger. I know a little about your history also such as:

CHARLES TAZE RUSSELL was born on February 16, 1852. In 1870 he started a Bible study class whose members eventually made him pastor. In 1879, he founded the magazine, “Zion’s Watchtower.” In 1886, he published the first of six books originally titled, “The Millennial Dawn” and later retitled “Studies in the Scriptures.” He died in 1916.

JOSEPH RUTHERFORD, the Society’s Legal Counselor, took over becoming the second president. It was under his leadership that the name was changed to “Jehovah’s Witnesses.” He was also responsible for implementing “Theocratic” control of the organization. He died in 1942.

NATHAN KNORR seceded Rutherford, and in 1961 under his leadership, the Society published their own bible called “New World Translation of the Holy Scriptures.” He died in 1977.

FREDERICK FRANZ became the next president; he was also on the committee that published their bible.

I also know that none of these four listed above ever had access to the manuscripts they claim to have had to produce your bible. What they did have was a copy of the Revised Standard Version in which they used to compile their New World Translation. Anyone can take a version of a bible and change texts in various places and then claim to have had original documents to support these changes. By using this method new doctrines can be introduced such as inserting the letter “a” in John 1:1 to create the heretical claims about Jesus. These original manuscripts that Jehovah’s Witnesses claim to have had access to when compiling the New World Translation have always been under extreme security and scrutiny. The Shrine of the Book, The Rockefeller Museum in Jerusalem as well as the Vatican and the British Museum are not going to allow anyone access to these documents to create their own bible. This is the most unbelievable lie propagated by the Jehovah’s Witnesses and what is sad is that the followers believe it.

I would like to share some verses for you out of your own version of your bible to show you the contradictions of your own belief using your own bible to do it. Keep in mind all these verses are directly out of your own New World Translation.

HOW MANY GODS ARE THERE ?

John 17:3 – Read this verse, “This means everlasting life, their taking in knowledge of you, the only true GOD…” According to this verse would agree that there is only ONE true GOD? Now turn to Deuteronomy 32:39 and read “See now that I – I am HE and there are no GODS together with me…” According to this verse there exist No GODS with Jehovah! Now turn to Isaiah 43:10 and read, “…Before me there was no GOD formed, and after me there continued to be none.” Now, Isaiah 44:8, “…Does there exist a GOD besides me? No, there is no rock. I have recognized none.” Now on to chapter 45:5, “I am Jehovah, and there is no one else. With the exception of me there is no GOD…” Now verse 21, “…is it not I Jehovah, besides whom there is no other GOD…” According to all these verses would you agree that it is very clear that there is no other GOD? Now go to Isaiah 9:6, “…and his name will be called wonderful, counselor, Mighty GOD, eternal Father…” If there is only ONE GOD as we already established with the previous scriptures, then why is Jesus here called “Mighty GOD”? I know you will probably respond by saying that HE is just a “Mighty GOD” and not the “Almighty GOD” like Jehovah. Even at that it is still contrary to the previous verses discussed; however, are you aware that Jehovah is addressed as “Mighty GOD” in Isaiah 10:24. Whatever the argument may be the bottom line is this; according to Isaiah 9:6 and John 1:1 the Jehovah’s Witnesses claim that Jesus is “a” God and this is totally contrary to Isaiah 43:10, 44:8, 45:5&21, and Deuteronomy 32:39, and others.

Now go to John 10:30-33: “30. I and the Father are one. 31. Once more the Jews lifted up stones to stone him. 32. Jesus replied to them: I displayed to you many fine works from the Father. For which of those works are you stoning me? 33. The Jews answered him: we are stoning you, not for a fine work, but for blasphemy, even because you, although being a man, make yourself A GOD.” What did Jesus mean in Verse 30? I already know you will most likely say that Jesus was only saying that He and the Father were one in purpose, thought, etc…: If that was all he was saying then why did the Jews say he was blaspheming? Wasn’t that their goal also to gain perfect unity with the Father? Also an important note; the Watchtower has mistranslated the end of verse 33 to make it fit their belief, just as they did with John 1:1. To make this point does it make sense that the Jews would call it blasphemy and try to stone him for simply claiming to be “A GOD”? They knew exactly what Jesus was saying, and said exactly what they understood him to be saying in Verse 33 (that he was saying if fact that He was GOD in the flesh).

It is very clear from your own scriptures that God clearly stated that there are “NO” other gods beside Him. He did not say that “There are no gods except Jesus whom I made “a” god. No, He clearly stated what He meant and it was exactly as He intended so that this very thing would not happen. Are we naïve enough to actually believe that God did not know ahead of time what false teachings would surface and therefore make sure to address these errors in His Word? I am not naïve, and I know for certain that His Word addresses all these errors and I do not need to be a Greek or Hebrew scholar to understand that. I am also certain that He never intended for us to have to be scholars to understand the simplicity of His Gospel. It is when “man” tries to insert his wisdom that false teachings are introduced.

WHO CREATED WHAT ?

John 1:3 - Read this verse, “All things came into existence through Him, and apart from Him not even one thing came into existence.” Now read Colossians 1:16-17, “Because by means of Him all [other] things were created in the heavens and upon the earth, the things visible and the things invisible, no matter whether they are thrones or lordships or governments or authorities.. All [other] things have been created through Him and for Him. 17. Also, He is before all [other] things and by means of Him all [other] things were made to exist.” Now turn to the back of your bible, the page right after Revelation. There is a chart called “Table of the Books of the Bible”, right after the chart there is a section titled, “You, and verbs in the plural number”, after that there is a sentence that says “[] brackets enclose words inserted to complete the sense in English text.” (In the 1984 version, but in the ’81 version this is in the foreword, pg.6). Would you agree that the purpose in adding these bracketed words is supposed to make the meaning clearer, and not change it? Read these verses without the bracketed word “other”. Remember that a bracketed word was not in the original language (Greek) but added. The reason is clear that these bracketed words were added was because it goes against the doctrine of Jesus being the creator.

Now, going back to the matter of “creating”, Jehovah’s Witnesses believe that GOD created Jesus first and then Jesus created everything else. Now read Isaiah 44:24 “…I, Jehovah, am doing everything, stretching out the Heavens by myself, laying out the earth. Who was with me?” Then go to Genesis 1:26 “And GOD went on to say: Let us make man in our image, according to our likeness…” According to this verse, “Let us make” indicates more than one in the creating process wouldn’t you agree? Now look at verse 27, “And GOD proceeded to create the man in his image, in GOD’s image he created him; male and female he created them.” According to these verses GOD is said to be doing the creating Himself, why doesn’t GOD say here that everything was created through Jesus? Doesn’t it make sense that if they are one and the same that no clarification is needed, as to who created what. This is my point, that according to the Bible Jesus was indeed God in the flesh, (John 1:1, 14, 1 Timothy 3:16, and many others) and because of that there is no conflict with Jesus being the creator as well as God, because they are one and the same, just as Jesus proclaimed in John 10: 30.

The problem comes when you try to strip Jesus of His deity because then you have to change what many scriptures say to agree with your teaching. It is pretty clear to anyone with average common sense when seeing the contradictory scriptures that either God is lying in His Word or your teaching is in error. I choose the latter of the two, because He said in His Word, “let God be true but every man a liar” and when I see someone “INSERTING” bracketed words to “CHANGE” a meaning to fit their doctrine, I see this verse at work.

WHO IS THE SAVIOR ?

Isaiah 43:11 “I am Jehovah, and besides me there is no savior.” How many savior’s are there? Go to Luke 2:11, “ A savior, who is Christ the Lord,…” Who is the savior according to this verse? Go to Acts 2:21, “And everyone who call on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” Who do we call on to be saved? Go to Acts 4:12, Furthermore, there is no salvation in anyone else, for there is not another name under Heaven that has been given among men by which we must get saved.” This verse is speaking of Jesus! Go to Romans 10:9, “For if you publicly declare… that Jesus is Lord…You will be saved.” Now look at verse 13, “For everyone who call on the name of Jehovah will be saved.” 1 Timothy 1:1, “…GOD our Savior…”, 1 Timothy 2:3, “…our Savior GOD.” , 2 Timothy 1:10, “ …our Savior, Christ Jesus…”, Titus 1:3 “ …our Savior, God.” , Verse 4, “…Christ Jesus our Savior.” 2:13, “…the Savior of us, Christ Jesus.” 3:4, “…our Savior, God.” Verse 6, “…Jesus Christ our Savior.”

If scriptures were implying that salvation is only through Jesus, but ultimately of Jehovah; wouldn’t the writers who were inspired of GOD and even GOD Himself have made sure that every time salvation was mentioned with Christ, it would be clear that it was “through” and not “of” Him? I think it is very clear from these verses that Jesus is the Savior and so is GOD and there is no problem with that if Jesus is indeed GOD as He is. Either Jesus is the Savior or God is there is not two, and no where does it say that it is only Through Jesus. The verses clearly say that Jesus IS the Savior just as GOD is addressed that way.

Once again you have implicitly tried to change a doctrine that is clearly against what the Bible says. Can you not see how much twisting and changing of scripture is being done to try to create a teaching and doctrine that was never intended?

IS JESUS REALLY MICHAEL ?

Daniel 10:13 “…Michael, one of the foremost princes …” Doesn’t this verse appear to be speaking of more than one? Go to Hebrews 1 – The first two chapters clearly indicate that Jesus is not an Angel, even a chief Angel. Start at Hebrews 1:5, “…To which one of the Angels did he ever say…” Doesn’t this include Michael? Then verse 6, “…and let all GOD’s Angels do obeisance to Him.” Are you aware that the 1961 edition of the New World Translation this verse said “Let all God’s Angels worship him?” Of course that was quickly changed because it contradicted your teaching of Jesus. Now go to verse 10 – 12, who is this talking about? It is clearly speaking of Jesus because the subject has not changed in the context. Now go to Psalm 102: 25-27. This is the same quote but it is speaking of Jehovah, yet there is a cross-reference in all three verses that refer this quote to the one in Hebrews 1:10-12. Now look at Hebrews 1:14 “Are they not all spirits…” Doesn’t this include Michael? Look at Hebrews 2:5, “For it is not to Angels…” How can Jesus be an Angel according to this verse?

Michael is mentioned only 5 times in the Bible, 3 – in Daniel, 1 – in Jude, and 1 – in Revelation. Jesus is mentioned as Jesus, Christ, or Savior – 678 – in Gospels, 901 – rest of New Testament, for a total of 1,579 times and if you add the times He’s referred to as “Lord” it is well over 2,000. Why do you think there is such a contrast if Jesus was Michael, came as Jesus, and is coming as Michael again? Wouldn’t you think if he really is Michael he would be addressed that way more than just 5 times in the whole Bible? Go to Jude 9, “but when Michael the Archangel had a difference with the devil and was disputing about Moses’ body, He did not dare to bring a judgment against him in abusive terms, but said: may Jehovah rebuke you."” According to this verse, “Michael:” did not rebuke satan but left that for Jehovah. Yet, Jesus not only rebuked the devil himself but gave the disciples power to do the same in “His Name”, in Matthew 10:8, and Luke 10:19, also see Matthew 4:10, 16:23, & Mark 8:33. If he had power over him on earth, why doesn’t he here in Jude 9 if he is supposed to be Michael? It also may be worth noting that the Greek word for Jehovah in this verse is “kurios” which is used of Jesus throughout the New Testament.

WHO IS THE OWNER ?

Isaiah 54:5, “For your grand maker is your husbandly owner. Jehovah of armies being his name; and the Holy One of Israel is your repurchaser. The God of the whole earth he will be called.” Who is the owner in this verse, what is his name, and what will he be called? Then turn to Jude 4, “…to our only owner and Lord, Jesus Christ.” Who does this proclaim Jesus to be according to Isaiah 54:5?

WHO IS COMING ?

Zechariah 14:1, “Look! There is a day coming, belonging to Jehovah…” Vs.3 And Jehovah will certainly go forth…” Vs.4, “And his feet will actually stand in that day…” Vs.5, “…And Jehovah my GOD will certainly come, all the Holy Ones being with Him.” Would you agree that according to these verses it is Jehovah who will come at this time? Then turn to Matthew 24:27, “…So the presence of the Son of Man will be.” Vs.30, “…And they will see the son of Man coming on the clouds…” Mark 13:26, and then they will see the Son of Man coming in clouds with power and great glory.” Acts 1:11 …This Jesus who was received up from you into the sky will come thus in the same manner as you have beheld Him going into the sky.” You can use these verses or go directly to 1 Thessalonians 3:13 …at the presence of our Lord Jesus with all His Holy Ones.” Look back at Zechariah 14:5, it is the exact same wording except one says Jehovah and the other says Jesus. Now go to 1 Thessalonians 4:14, “…Those who have fallen asleep [in death] through Jesus, GOD will bring with Him.” According to this verse GOD is bringing those with Him, but 3:13 states that Jesus is bringing them, how do you explain this? Who is coming, Jehovah or Jesus? Then look at 4:16, “Because the Lord Himself will descend from Heaven…” How can He be coming from heaven if He has been on earth since 1914? Go to 2 Thessalonians 2:1, “However, brothers, respecting the presence of our Lord Jesus Christ and our being gathered together to Him…” Wouldn’t you agree that this verse is speaking of 1 Thessalonians 4:16? Next go to Revelation 1:7-8, Look! He is coming with the clouds, and every eye will see him, and those who pierced Him…” 8. “I am the Alpha and the Omega, says Jehovah GOD, the one who is and who was and who is coming, the Almighty.” In verse 7 who is coming? In verse 8 who is coming? Look at Rev. 22:20, “…Yes; I am coming quickly. Amen! Come, Lord Jesus,” It is clear in this verse who is the one coming.

There are some serious problems here unless you believe in the deity of Jesus. God is not trying to confuse anyone; it is man making a doctrine that is contrary to scripture that makes it confusing. If Jesus is indeed God in the flesh then it is very easy to understand these passages. If you make Jesus anything less than God then you must twist scripture and try to make them say what they were never intended to say. I am not advocating three Gods or even two. I am saying that God is a Spirit and therefore cannot be confined to space and time. He is omniscient and it was in the “spirit” of Jesus that He was God, and the Holy Spirit is part of and actually one and the same. Jesus was 100% God in the Spirit and 100% man in the flesh. Because we may not fully understand that concept is not justification to create a new doctrine to accommodate it. I am also sending a copy of the Deity of Jesus to show the scriptural support for this belief.

CAN JESUS RECEIVE GOD’S GLORY ?

John 5:23, “In order that all may honor the Son just as they honor the Father. He that does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.” Do you believe that Jesus should receive all the same recognition or entitlements that Jehovah does? Go to Isaiah 42:8, “I am Jehovah, that is my name; and to no one else shall I give my own glory, neither my praise to graven images.” And Isaiah 48:11, “…And to no one else shall I give my own glory.” According to these two verses “No One” can share Jehovah’s glory, correct? Go to John 17:5, “So now you, Father, Glorify me alongside yourself with the glory that I had alongside you before the world was.” How do you compare this with the verses in Isaiah? It appears that there is a contradiction about Jehovah sharing His glory? Go to Revelation 4:11, “You are worthy, Jehovah, even our GOD, to receive the glory and the honor and the power…” Now look at 5:12, “…The lamb that was slaughtered is worthy to receive the power and riches and wisdom and strength and honor and glory and blessing.” Doesn’t Jesus receive the exact same acclamations that Jehovah does? Again, it is obvious that these scriptures prove the deity of Jesus.

WHOSE SPIRIT DWELLS IN YOU ?

2 Corinthians 3:17, “Now Jehovah is the spirit; and where the spirit of Jehovah is, there is freedom.” Now look at John 4:24, “God is a Spirit” Now Ephesians 2:18, “Because through him we, both peoples, have the approach to the Father by one spirit.” Now 4:4, “One body there is, and one spirit…” Would you agree that there is only ONE Spirit and it is Jehovah? Now go to 1 Corinthians 3:16, “Do you not know that you people are GOD’s temple, and that the spirit of GOD dwells in you?” According to this verse whose spirit dwells in you? Now look at Romans 8:9, “However, you are in harmony, not with the flesh, but with the spirit, if GOD’s spirit truly dwells in you. But if anyone does not have Christ’s spirit, this one does not belong to Him.” According to this verse it is God’s spirit that dwells in you and then in the same verse it says it is the Spirit of Christ that you must have. The question is; How many Spirits are there? According to Ephesians 4:4, which we already read above, states that there is only ONE Spirit. Now look at Romans 8:11, “If, now, the spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells, in you, He that raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also make your mortal bodies alive through His spirit that resides in you.” According to this verse would you agree that GOD’s spirit is the one that dwells in you? Now look at Galatians 4:6, “Now because you are sons, GOD has sent forth the Spirit of His Son into our hearts…” Are there two Spirits that dwell in you? Jesus’ or GOD’s? Now look at Ephesians 3:17, “To have the Christ dwell through [your] faith in your hearts…” It seems clear that “WE” are to have the Spirit of Christ in us, and the Spirit of GOD in us, which is not a problem if Jesus is indeed GOD in the flesh.

Ephesians 4:4 is correct that there is only ONE spirit. God is a spirit and Jesus’ spirit was that of God and therefore one and the same spirit.

WHO’S THE JUDGE ?

Matthew 25:31-32, “When the Son of Man arrives in His glory, and all the angels with Him, then he will sit down on his glorious throne. 32. “And all the nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate people one from another…” Now Acts 17:31, “Because he has set a day in which He purposes to judge the inhabited earth…By a man whom He has appointed, and…resurrected Him from the dead.” Now John 5:22, “For the Father judges no one at all, but He has committed all the judging to the Son.” According to these verses and especially 5:22, isn’t it right to say that Jesus is the only Judge? Go to Romans 14:10, “…For we shall all stand before the judgment seat of GOD.” If you have a Kingdom Interlinear look up this verse and you will see that in the Greek it should be “judgment seat of Christ,” not GOD. The Greek work for Christ is “Christo’s”, and the Greek for GOD is “Theos”. According to John 5:22, Christ is the Judge. While on this thought turn to 2 Corinthians 5:10, “For we must all be made manifest before the judgment seat of Christ…” are there are two judgment seats? Go back to Romans 14:10, isn’t more likely that the Watchtower mistranslated this verse purposely because if they left it as “Christ” that it would too strongly imply that Jesus was Jehovah? Now read verse 11, “…says Jehovah, to me every knee will bend down, and every tongue will make open acknowledgment to GOD.” Now look at Philippians 2:10-11, “So that in the name of Jesus every knee should bend of those in Heaven and those on earth and those under the ground. 11. And every tongue should openly acknowledge that Jesus Christ is Lord…” according to Romans 14:11 it is Jehovah that every knee will bow to, and here it is Jesus. The point is that in Romans 14:11 which is a quote from Isaiah 45:23, both of these scriptures clearly say that these acts will be done “to” Jehovah, and Philippians 2:10-11 states that they are done to Jesus. There is a contradiction unless they are one and the same. The question is not to whose glory the act is done, the question is to Whom it is done.

HOW MANY JEHOVAH’S ARE THERE ?

Genesis 18, this section contains two chapters so for the sake of space and time, only the verses needed to make the point are used. The verses will be listed first then the reasoning will follow. 18:1, “Afterward Jehovah appeared to him… 2. When he raised his eyes, then he looked and there three men were standing… 3. Then he said; Jehovah, if now I have found favor in your eyes, please do not pass by your servant. 4. …You must have Your feet washed… 5. …and refresh Your hearts. Following that, You can pass on, because that is why You have passed this way to Your servant. At this They said:… 9. They now said to Him… 13. Then Jehovah said to Abraham…
16. Later the men got up from there and looked down toward Sodom, and Abraham was walking with Them to escort Them. 17. And Jehovah said… 20. Consequently Jehovah said… 21. I Am quite determined to go down… 22. At this point The Men turned from there and got on their way to Sodom; But as for Jehovah, He was still standing before Abraham. Chapter 19:1. Now the two Angels arrived at Sodom by evening…Lot…bowed down with his face to the earth. 13. For we are bringing this place to ruin… 18. Then Lot said to Them: not that, please, Jehovah! 24. Then Jehovah made it rain sulphur and fire from Jehovah, from the heavens…”
I would like to discuss this presenting the facts of the scriptures.
In verse 1, Jehovah is said to appear to Abraham, and in verse 2, he describes Him as three men and in verse 3, he addresses them as Jehovah. In verse 3, Abraham also is speaking to Jehovah in the singular but in verses 4&5 expresses that Jehovah is plural. In both verses, 4&5, the words “You and Your” are in capital letters: if you look back to the second question where I showed that if you look up the bracketed words, that in the same section it also tells that anytime “You” and “Your” is in capital letters it indicates that the pronoun is plural. Now after looking at this, look at verse 5. “They respond; So, to this point these are the facts; in verse 3, Abraham speaks to Jehovah in the singular sense, and in verses 4&5 indicates that it is plural, and in verse 5, “THEY” respond. In verse 9, “THEY” speak again and in verse 13, it indicates that it is Jehovah speaking.
In verse 16 they all get up and Abraham walks with them and in verse 17, Jehovah speaks, and in verse 20, it tells us that Jehovah is continuing to speak. In verse 21, Jehovah says that “I Am” going to Sodom. In verse 22, it says that “The Men” went to Sodom but Jehovah stayed there with Abraham. In chapter 19:1 two angels arrive reaffirming 18:22 and also verse 1. Lot worships these Two; the same thing Abraham did in 18:2. In verse 13, The Two say that “They” are going to destroy Sodom. In verse 18, Lot addressed them as Jehovah also. So now to this point these are the facts; Jehovah is standing with Abraham (18:22) and with Lot also (19:18). Then in verse 24, it says Jehovah made it rain fire from Jehovah in Heaven. How Many Jehovah’s are there? One with Abraham, One with Lot, and One in Heaven? If we can believe in a GOD that simply spoke this world and everything we see and know into existence; then why is it so hard to believe that this same GOD could create us out of nothing, and loved us so much that He could send Himself (Genesis 22:8) in the form of a man (1 Timothy 3:16) to die for us (John 3:16) so we could regain eternity with Him (Ephesians 2:16). This is no more of a mystery than creation was, but because we cannot completely understand something in scriptures does not give us a right to change them. The Watchtower Society has consistently reprinted literature and their bible to match their teaching instead of making their teaching match the infallible Word of God. The Watchtower makes the excuse that men wrote the Bible and translated it and could have made errors. They do not believe that GOD has the power to protect the writings of a single book to keep it error free! I serve a bigger GOD than that.

WHO IS THE SHEPHERD ?

Psalm 23:1, “Jehovah is my Shepherd. I shall lack nothing.” Psalm 80:1, “O Shepherd of Israel, do give ear…” It is clear from these two verses that Jehovah is the Shepherd. Now look at John 10:11, “I am the fine Shepherd…” Now look at verse 14, “I am the fine Shepherd, and I know my sheep and my sheep know me.” Now look at Hebrews 13:20, “Now may the GOD of Peace, who brought up from the dead the Great Shepherd of the Sheep…” How can Jesus claim the same title used of Jehovah? If Jesus was indeed GOD in the flesh which 1Timothy 3:16 states then this makes perfect sense?

WHO IS THE LIGHT ?

2 Samuel 22:29, “For you are my lamp, O Jehovah…” Psalm 27:1, “Jehovah is my light and my salvation…” Isaiah 60:19-20, “…and Jehovah must become to you an indefinitely lasting light… 20. …Jehovah Himself will become for you an indefinitely lasting light…” According to these verses who is clearly the light? It is Jehovah! Now look at John 1:9, “The True Light that gives light to every sort of man was about to come into the world.” Then John 8:12, “…I am the light of the world…” Now John 9:5, “As long as I am in the world, I am the world’s light.” Jesus claims in John 1:9 that He is the true light, would that make him Jehovah? If Jesus is the True Light, then what does that make Jehovah? Now look at 1 John 1:5, “…God is light…” comparing this statement to John 1:9, & 8:12, & 9:5, what does this say about Jesus? It is clear that for Jesus to claim the same attributes of God that He can only be God and not be contradicting the Word. Nowhere does it say in these or any other verses that Jesus is a different light, nor does it say that there is more than one light. Now to further prove the point, compare 2 Samuel 22:29 with Revelation 21:23, “…its lamp was the Lamb.” It is clear that this verse is saying that the Lamb is the source of light, along with Jesus’ own claims in the previous verses.

I know that the Watchtower Society tries very hard to explain away all these troubled verses as well as many others that contradict their false teachings. However, that in itself should be a bright enough red flashing light to cause any Jehovah’s Witness to step back and look at what is being done. I realize that in most cases you have been raised this way and it is hard to accept anything contrary to what you have been taught. I am simply asking that you look at what your own bible says to contradict your beliefs.

WHO’S THE ROCK ?

Deuteronomy 32:4, The Rock, perfect is His activity…” Now look at 2 Samuel 22:32, “For who is a GOD besides Jehovah and who is a rock besides our GOD?” Now Psalm 18:2, “…My GOD is my rock…” Now Psalm 89:26, “…my GOD and the rock of my salvation.” It seems pretty clear from these verses that Jehovah GOD is the Rock, and the only one, wouldn’t you agree? Now look at Romans 9:33, “As it is written: Look! I am laying in Zion a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offense…” Who is this rock-mass referring to? Now look at 1 Corinthians 10:4, “…for they used to drink from the spiritual rock-mass that followed them, and that rock-mass meant the Christ.” Now look at 1 Peter 2:8, and a stone of stumbling and a rock-mass of offense…” It is very clear from 1 Peter 2:4-7 that this verse and Romans 9:33 and 1 Corinthians 10:4 are referring to Jesus. Don’t these three verses make it apparent that Jesus was to be the rock also? Also notice that all three verses have cross-references to Isaiah 8:14 and look at Isaiah 8 starting with verse 13, “Jehovah of armies- He is the one whom you should treat as Holy, and He should be the object of your fear, and He should be the one causing you to tremble. 14. And He must become as a sacred place; but as a stone to strike against and as a rock over which to stumble…” here it says they will stumble over Jehovah, yet in Romans 9:33, 1 Corinthians 10:4, and 1 Peter 2:4-8, it is said to be Jesus; Doesn’t this imply that they are one and the same? Are you aware that Isaiah 8:14 has a cross-reference to Romans 9:33 and 1 Peter 2:8 indicating that these verses are speaking of the same person?

FORGIVENESS : JEHOVAH OR JESUS ?

Psalm 32:5, “My sin I finally confessed to You…to Jehovah. And You Yourself pardoned the error of my sins.” Then Jeremiah 31:34, “…the utterance of Jehovah. For I shall forgive their error…” Then Daniel 9:9, “To Jehovah our GOD belong the mercies and the acts of forgiveness…” According to these verses would you agree that only Jehovah forgives sin? Then go to Mark 2:5-10, 5. “And when Jesus saw their faith He said to the paralytic: child, your sins are forgiven. 6. Now there were some of the scribes there…reasoning… 7. He is blaspheming. Who can forgive sins except one, GOD? 8. But Jesus said to them… 10. But in order for you men to know that the Son of Man has authority to forgive sins upon the earth…” by saying this wasn’t Jesus claiming to be GOD, since ordinary man or even a prophet, or even an angel does not have the authority to forgive sins? Even if you claim that he got his authority from Jehovah and it was not his; if he was expressing it in that way wouldn’t He say “in the name of Jehovah your sins are forgiven”? If Jesus was not claiming to have the authority Himself, then why would the scribes say He was blaspheming since he accredited it to Jehovah? In fact to prove to the scribes that He did indeed have the power to forgive, He healed the paralytic and then told them that was the proof in verse 10.
Now go to Acts 26:18, “To open their eyes…in order for them to receive forgiveness of sins... By [their] faith in Me.” According to this verse Jesus not only tells Paul that forgiveness is from Him but says it comes by faith in Him, not Jehovah. How could Jesus say this and not be blaspheming, unless He is of course God?

WHO GIVES LIFE ?

Genesis 2:7, “And Jehovah GOD proceeded to form the man out of dust from the ground and to blow into his nostrils the breath of life. And man came to be a living soul.” Deuteronomy 32:39, “…I put to death, and I make alive.” Now look at 1 Samuel 2:6, “Jehovah is a killer and a preserver of life…” Now look at Psalm 36:9, “For with You is the source of life…” From these scriptures isn’t it safe to say that only Jehovah produces and is the source of life? Now look at John 5:21, “For just as the Father raises the dead up and makes them alive, so the Son also makes those alive whom He wants to.” Now look at John 10:28, “And I give them everlasting life, and they will by no means ever be destroyed, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.” Now look at John 11:25, “Jesus said to her: I am the resurrection and the life. He that exercises faith in Me, even though he dies, will come to life.” How can Jesus claim to give everlasting life if He is only an agent through whom this is given? He did not say that this everlasting life was through Jehovah and He was only the agent used to obtain it. He clearly said it was “through” Him.

What about the False Prophecies made by the Watchtower Society?

Deuteronomy 18:20-22 The prophet who presumes to speak in my name a word that I have not commanded him to speak or who speaks in the name of other gods, that prophet must die. And in case you should say in your heart: “How shall we know the word that Jehovah has not spoken?” When the prophet speaks in the name of Jehovah and the word does not occur or come true, that is the word that Jehovah did not speak. With presumptuousness the prophet spoke it.

To put it plainly, a word spoken and claimed to be from God that does not come to pass makes that person a False Prophet!

I would like to now list some of the over 500 false prophecies or statements made by the Watchtower Society; namely its leaders like Charles Russell and his successors. I will even list the publication and date these False Prophecies were made. What is remarkable is that the claim has been made all along from its inception that the Watchtower Society is God’s only channel of truth. If that is the case that truth in the beginning cannot become false in later times. It was either truth to start with or it was a lie. Regardless of who was making the claim, if it was done as representing the beliefs of the “organization” then it only stands to reason that the leader of that organization is false. If claims or statements were made in publications of this organization are we to assume that the leader of this organization is ignorant of what is being printed?
In an organization such as this where control is a key factor over the people it is without a doubt impossible that the leader or leaders are not aware of what is being printed in their publications. In fact, they are most likely the ones writing and or authorizing it. The following are just some of over 500 false statements made by this organization. According to the Bible only ONE false prophecy or statement said to be from God makes that person a false prophet. What does over 500 make them? What is remarkable is that this organization admits itself that there were false prophecies and statements made by them and they still excuse them!

*These quotes were taken from David A. Reed who became a baptized Jehovah’s Witness in 1969. He served the Watch Tower Society as a full time minister, elder, and presiding overseer. Eventually, personal Bible reading caused him to question the organization’s teachings and this led to his formal expulsion in 1982.

I understand that any Jehovah’s Witness reading this will be seeing through the organization’s blinded eyes. I only pray that the Holy Spirit will open those eyes to see the may contradictions in teachings that have been presented. It certainly does not sound like an organization that is being led by the Spirit of God. God is not the author of confusion but of peace, love and a sound mind.

I have only listed some of the over 500 contradicting, false, and so called prophetic statements made by this organization and its leaders. They change their stand on what God supposedly said as much as the wind shifts. This is not how God operates nor is it the way He deals with His people.
