Why Is Jesus The Only Way To Go To Heaven?
By Adam Bartlett
There is a tremendous push especially in today's society to compromise what Jesus said and to be more inclusive with other beliefs and their methods of getting to heaven. I guess it must first be determined if you believe the scriptures to be true or not. Unfortunately there are many Christians that have bought into the lie that our Bible is not accurate and therefore cannot fully believe what it says. The Bible is accurate, true, and infallible and to believe that God cannot keep a single book that way as long as He chooses is hypocritical. Now that we established that the Bible is true then we must accept what is says regarding this question.
It was Jesus Himself that made the many statements about the exclusivity of following Him.
John 1
1: In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2: The same was in the beginning with God.
3: All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.
10: He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and the world knew him not.
11: He came unto his own, and his own received him not.
12: But as many as received him, to them gave he power to become the sons of God, even to them that believe on his name:
14: And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.
John 3
3: Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God.
4: Nicodemus saith unto him, How can a man be born when he is old? can he enter the second time into his mother's womb, and be born?
5: Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God.
6: That which is born of the flesh is flesh; and that which is born of the Spirit is spirit.
16: For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
17: For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.
18: He that believeth on him is not condemned: but he that believeth not is condemned already, because he hath not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God.
36: He that believeth on the Son hath everlasting life: and he that believeth not the Son shall not see life; but the wrath of God abideth on him.
John 5
39: Search the scriptures; for in them ye think ye have eternal life: and they are they which testify of me.
John 10
1: Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that entereth not by the door into the sheepfold, but climbeth up some other way, the same is a thief and a robber.
9: I am the door: by me if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture.
John 14
6: Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me.
Acts 4
12: Neither is there salvation in any other: for there is none other name under heaven given among men, whereby we must be saved.
It could be no clearer than these last two verses that Jesus is the only way to heaven. No other belief can say that their "leader" or "originator" or whatever they may call them died for their sins and rose again to conquer death. All leaders or progenitors of other beliefs are dead to this day and will remain that way. They can also never claim that they were God in the flesh as Jesus was and IS.
1 Timothy 3
16: And without controversy great is the mystery of godliness: God was manifest in the flesh, justified in the Spirit, seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory.
Philippians 2
5: Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:
6: Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:
7: But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:
8: And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross.
9: Wherefore God also hath highly exalted him, and given him a name which is above every name:
10: That at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, of things in heaven, and things in earth, and things under the earth;
11: And that every tongue should confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father.
Colossians 1
15: Who is the image of the invisible God, the firstborn of every creature:
16: For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:
17: And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.
18: And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.
19: For it pleased the Father that in him should all fulness dwell;
20: And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
He is not just some other guy like Muhammad, Gandhi, Buddha, Joseph Smith, Joseph Rutherford, or any of the other progenitors of a belief. He was and is God in the flesh and He alone died for our sins, that is how He can say He is the only way to heaven. That is why many will agree upon a "Supreme" being as they put it and freely join discussions about God. It is when you start talking about Jesus that they get defensive and the divisive walls start coming up. You see, in most cases everyone has their own idea of who God is and they have their own version so it is not offensive to them. When you enter Jesus into the equation they know that He claims exclusivity and therefore it causes them problems because they cannot claim their faith is the only way.
The only way these other beliefs get around this is they have to claim that there are errors in our Bible and that is also why each of these other beliefs had to come up with their own book. There is no way that they can use the Bible and remain compatible with their views and beliefs. It amazes me the amounts of people that are willing to believe these men that come on the scene hundreds of years after Christianity was established and claim it is in error and that they have the correct path. When you take away from the Bible and claim it has errors it opens the door for you to claim anything. There doesn't have to be any support or evidence and people are gullible enough to believe it. It is simply the enemy at work and he is gaining great strides every day because people refuse to believe the simple truth.
It is nothing new; in fact it started with the first humans that ever existed. If you remember the story of Adam and Eve you will recall that the first thing the devil tempted Eve with was not the fruit, it was the lie about God's Word.
Genesis 3
1: Now the serpent was more subtle than any beast of the field which the LORD God had made. And he said unto the woman, Yea, hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
The very first thing the enemy did was question God's word and what He said. The enemy still uses that tactic today and it still works just as effectively as it did on the first humans.
Summary
In conclusion the answer to the question is, "BECAUSE THE BIBLE SAYS SO!"
