Ezra
The Picture of Revival
The Jews were captive for 70 years to the Babylonians and now it was time for them to be released from this captivity and return to their homeland and rebuild the place of worship to their God. Many Christians today are coming out of the captivity of tradition and searching for a place to build a true place of worship to their God also.
Ezra 1: 1-5
Vs. 3 - God is looking among His People to find those that are ready and willing to break the chains of bondage and build a place to honor Him.
Vs. 5 - Those whose spirit God has raised to perform this work; Judah (Praise), Benjamin (Son of the Right Hand), priests, and Levites. Those who know that it starts with Praising the Son of the Right Hand and are ready for the work of the ministry.
Ezra 3: 1-3
Vs. 2 - Built and altar first; The first step implemented BEFORE building
Vs. 3 - The enemy wants to instill fear and stop the building before it starts. We must know where to get the power to destroy the fear.
Vs. 10-13 - Foundation Laid - There will be unbridled praise and worship as the foundation is laid.
Ezra 4: 1-5
Vs. 1 - If there is a True move of God the enemy WILL hear about it
Vs. 2 - The enemy will try to come in and destroy the work from within; strife, division, etc…
Vs. 3 - We must make our stand and only allow the Spirit to work within
Vs. 4 - Once the enemy sees he is not welcome within the attacks will start from without. The main objective is to stop the work!
Ezra 5: 1-2
God will send Prophets to encourage the leaders to continue the work they were called to do. To remind them of the call and who it was that called them and the work will then be restarted. Reignite the determination
Ezra 6: 14
The task was completed through the help and exhortation of the Prophets as it is with us today
We know where we are as a body in relation to this story, but where are you personally?
Have you built the Altar?
Have you laid the Foundation?
Are there major or minor repairs needed on your Temple?
