Growth of the Seed
Mark 4: 26 - 29
Can do: > Sow seeds - without sowing nothing will grow.
- Be about the work - not idle in the market place -
seed will not plant itself.
Cannot do: > Make it grow and take root - we are only to sow and water that seed.
- Not to be selective about the soil - that is God's area.
- Pharisees were selective and condemned by Jesus. exmp...
1 Corinthians 3: 6-8
We are not to get caught up in who gets the credit for it.
We are responsible for sowing to provide an avenue for growth.
The Growth Process - Mark 4: 26 - 29
> First - The Blade = acceptance of the word.
> Second - The Ear = change in actions - character - born again.
> Third - The Full Corn = the mature Christian.
> The Reaping = is our part in providing support and assistance in the maturing process - to see the result of sincere concern for the lost - a life changed.
Psalms 126: 5-6
> Weeping - represents the true concern for the lost.
Galatians 6: 7-9
> We are promised we will reap - whether it is of selfishness or of the spirit - What are you going to reap? Have you any sheaves to bring with you?
John 4: 35-39
> Our witnessing to one person can have an affect on many others - that is why it is important to not hesitate - the harvest is waiting on you.
> We are to "Reap" them into fellowship - No farmer leaves his ripe crop out in the field for the birds to devour - but brings it into the barn - the church is that barn (should be) to the Christian - from the world.
Isaiah 55: 8-11
> The life is in the word - it is the nature of the living seed to grow - it is improper soil that kills.
- Since the life of the word is the Spirit - it is Spiritual life and is produced by God and not us - we can expect - as the farmer does.
