Is America Fulfilling Prophecy?
Deuteronomy 32
28: For they are a nation void of counsel, neither is there any understanding in them.
29: O that they were wise, that they understood this, that they would consider their latter end!
People all over this country are up in arms over this Sea Port deal allowing Saudi Arabia to basically control our major Sea Ports and rightfully so. In my lifetime it is one of the most idiotic things I have ever seen our country do. Of course that is aside from legalizing abortion and homosexual marriage. Just when you think things can’t get any worse something like this happens and it puts you at a whole new level.
At the same time I have to look at all the things happening and see how they may apply in God’s Word and His plan for the end times. I know without a doubt that we are rapidly approaching the time known as the Tribulation. All one has to do is look at the daily headlines and match them up with scripture to see that we are as Jesus put it:
Mark 13
When ye shall see these things come to pass, know that it is nigh, even at the doors.
I truly believe we are witnessing things today that are of prophetic nature and that are ushering in this time that until now only seemed like a story. What will it be like when these horrible things prophesied become a reality? How will we stand in that time, as a strong Christian, or bewildered and panicked with the rest of the world?
What about these Sea Ports? How do they fit into all of this?
First of all we are not being told the whole story, as if we should be shocked when it involves our government. It is not six ports as the media has been reporting but really 22 as this article points out. WorldNetDaily: 22 ports in Arab deal, not just 6 as reported
It turns out that it encompasses all the major Ports in this country and many in-between.
According to another article Bush appointed Dubai firm's top executive.
http://www.worldnetdaily.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=49011
How much he is involved will probably never be revealed as is the case in all of these types of high political scandals. Regardless, what is more disturbing is the consequences of this country opening up its ports to a country that supports terrorists. According to the following article there is ample evidence of their terror ties.
The following is an excerpt from this article:
They state that we work with them in the war on terror and that their assistance has been "invaluable." They will not be in charge of security at U.S. ports, they would manage them. The Bush administration insists "they can be trusted." The Dubai ports transport 40% of our supplies to our troops in Iraq. They provide air bases to support our war planes. They donated $100 million to Katrina hurricane aid (chump change for them).
Let me list just a small sampling of objections coming from all sides. I will report and you decide:
* United Arab Emirates (UAE) banking systems served as a conduit for al-Qaida funds for 9/11 and other terror activity.
* The Bush doctrine on terror states that any nation harboring or aiding terrorists is our enemy, but in this case, they are being rewarded.
* Nine of the 9/11 hijackers went through Dubai, or UAE, on their way to America.
* The UAE was one of only three nations to recognize the Taliban regime in Afghanistan.
* When a bin Laden camp was dismantled, it appeared it was due to a warning from the UAE.
* In 2004 they turned over an al-Qaida terrorist to Pakistan rather than arresting him.
* The head of the U.N. nuclear watchdog agency, the IAEA, has said that the UAE was among more than 20 nations trading in the nuclear black market.
* Marwin al-Shehi, a UAE citizen and one of the 9/11 hijackers, received $100,000 from them. A second hijacker was from the UAE.
* About one half of the money spent on 9/11 was wired to al-Qaida terrorists in the U.S. from Dubai banks. The same is true for the bombings in Kenya and Tanzania.
* Foreigners (the U.K.) already manage some of our ports. What's the difference? The difference is that the U.K. has been long-time friends and allies with no links to terror.
* The UAE funds Hamas. Hamas praises the UAE. They reimburse suicide bombers in Israel. Hamas says, "The UAE's (former) leader was the first to use oil as a political weapon against the West and that same former leader branded the U.S. as 'our number two enemy after Israel.'" http://www.olivetreeviews.org/articles/Jans_Articles.shtml#newsitemEEupAVZZpuWMKHHKdV
Everyone is always asking how America fits into prophecy and why it is not mentioned in the Bible regarding the end times. We must always keep in mind that God views things from a “world” perspective, so in regards to prophecy we must be careful not to try to create ways to make America fit into a certain prophetic situation.
It has already been reported that only approximately 10% of the containers get inspected at the current time. With a terrorist group in charge of all our major ports are we naïve enough to think that there will not be attempts to bring in weapons to use on us? Another article reported the following:
A 12-kiloton nuclear device (small by today's standards, and similar in size to that used on Japan) detonated at the Brooklyn Redhook Terminal would likely kill 2 million people or more as the radioactive fallout rains downwind on the completely unprotected citizens of Long Island, his company estimates. There are many in the prophetic teaching areas that believe that Revelation 18 is speaking of America. There is much debate about this but all I will say is that it is stunning the similarities between what is said in this chapter and the condition of this country, especially verses 14-24. I would like to list some verses and ask you to see for yourself the similarities.
Revelation 18
3: For all nations have drunk of the wine of the wrath of her fornication, and the kings of the earth have committed fornication with her, and the merchants of the earth are waxed rich through the abundance of her delicacies.
7: How much she hath glorified herself, and lived deliciously, so much torment and sorrow give her: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall see no sorrow.
8: Therefore shall her plagues come in one day, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire: for strong is the Lord God who judgeth her.
9: And the kings of the earth, who have committed fornication and lived deliciously with her, shall bewail her, and lament for her, when they shall see the smoke of her burning,
10: Standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Alas, alas, that great city Babylon, that mighty city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
11: And the merchants of the earth shall weep and mourn over her; for no man buyeth their merchandise any more:
17: For in one hour so great riches is come to nought. And every shipmaster, and all the company in ships, and sailors, and as many as trade by sea, stood afar off,
18: And cried when they saw the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like unto this great city!
19: And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and wailing, saying, Alas, alas, that great city, wherein were made rich all that had ships in the sea by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.
23: And the light of a candle shall shine no more at all in thee; and the voice of the bridegroom and of the bride shall be heard no more at all in thee: for thy merchants were the great men of the earth; for by thy sorceries were all nations deceived.
24: And in her was found the blood of prophets, and of saints, and of all that were slain upon the earth.
Remember when 9-11 occurred and they were showing reports from all over the country of people holding vigils and weeping for what had happened? If through the Ports that are soon to be controlled by terrorists they would bring in nuclear weapons to use on us the scriptures above would become a reality.
It is interesting that at this point in our history our country has lost its credibility among the world and most of our allies. America is no longer looked up to or respected by the rest of the world but seen as the aggressor and instigator in world affairs. With our Ports vulnerable to terrorist, if by chance they would use that opportunity to bring in nuclear weapons it would be the end of our existence as a country. It would cripple us beyond repair and we would be for all intentional purposes invisible in world affairs from that point on.
To clarify, I am not saying that this chapter is referring to America but only showing the striking resemblance. I originally did not intend for this to be so lengthy but after getting into it there is just simply too much to cover to abbreviate it. Even at that I will not even come close to covering all that could be included. It is not just about the Ports issue that we should look to the scriptures and how we stand in prophecy. Much has already been in progress that is catapulting our country to the point of God’s judgment.
Is America about to be judged by God for its national sins?
America has been blessed for over 200 years. As a result, we have developed an attitude of superiority and spiritual pride. We think that no matter what we do, God will overlook it. Life has become valueless and we could not have proved that more than in 1973 when our government legalized abortion. Since that time we have systematically murdered 43,000,000 babies.
The U.S. News and World Report estimates that more than three million crimes are committed in or near the 85,000 U.S. public schools. A University of Michigan study reports that nine percent of eighth-graders carry a gun, a knife or a club to school at least once a month. An estimated 270,000 guns go to school every day. Twenty percent of suburban high school students surveyed by researchers at Tulane University thought it appropriate to shoot someone "who has stolen something from you." Eight percent believed it is acceptable to shoot a person who has "done something to offend or insult you."
The first three Harry Potter books appeared in the top ten of the New York Times best seller list -- an unprecedented occurrence for children's books. The Harry Potter books have a world wide appeal and have already been published in 115 countries and in 28 languages. They are on the recommended reading lists of almost all public schools.
Morals have gone out the window and Hollywood has replaced them along with MTV and rap music. Kids today play video games that are crude and full of mindless violence, listen to the same type of message in their music and then go to a school that teaches relativity and humanism. The moral foundation of our society has become a cesspool of filth, degradation, sex, violence, and no absolutes.
Homosexuals are forcing their views on the world with the help of Hollywood and the media. It will not be long and homosexual marriage will be legal in most, if not all states. Regardless of what society says about this issue God still calls it detestable and an abomination to Him.
I challenge you to read the following scripture and find one description that does not fit our society in this country.
2 Timothy 3
1: This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
2: For men shall be lovers of their own selves, covetous, boasters, proud, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy,
3: Without natural affection, trucebreakers, false accusers, incontinent, fierce, despisers of those that are good,
4: Traitors, reckless, high-minded, lovers of pleasures more than lovers of God;
5: Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.
You cannot find a more accurate description of the country than the scriptures above. Nature has also played a role in depicting the time we are in.
Romans 8 22: For we know that the whole creation groaneth and travaileth in pain together until now. 23: And not only they, but ourselves also, which have the firstfruits of the Spirit, even we ourselves groan within ourselves, waiting for the adoption, to wit, the redemption of our body.
Paul tells us that even creation itself is groaning in the midst of birth pains eagerly awaiting the redemption that will be ours when Jesus returns as conquering king. As we grow closer to His return, earthquakes and other disturbances on the earth will continue to grow in frequency and intensity. Jesus told us that we would know by these signs:
Matthew 24 6: And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet. 7: For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places. 8: All these are the beginning of sorrows. 9: Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name's sake.
The 20th Century alone saw the greatest number of earthquakes rocking the earth. There were some 91,000 of them (ranging from a magnitude of 0.3 to 6.99 on the Richter Scale) and 198 major earthquakes (of 7.00 to 9.99). More than two million people have died as a result of earthquakes. Look at the following link and it will amaze you how many recordable earthquakes there are around the world each day. As I write this on Feb. 27, 2006 if you go to the link below you will see that there were 36 recordable earthquakes yesterday. That is mind-boggling when we consider how they are increasing as the days go by. http://earthquake.usgs.gov/eqcenter/recenteqsww/Quakes/quakes_all.php
Natural disasters are obvious because they tend to cause more devastation like the tsunami in South Asia in December of 2004. There have been many hurricanes hit our country, not to mention tornadoes, forest fires, and floods. In all these things God is trying to warn us of the impending judgment if we do not repent as a country. When you read all the scriptures pertaining to the end of time and the events surrounding them, one thing is said over and over, “Watch.”
"Watch and pray, therefore, that you would be counted worthy to escape the judgment that is coming upon the earth and be able to stand before the Son of Man" (Luke 21:36).
Is America turning its back on Israel?
The policy of the American government is systematically pushing Israel to concede its God given and rightful land to terrorists. It is hypocritical of this country and its leadership to wage a war against terror and then tell our only ally to give up their rightful land to them. It is obvious that our leadership does not pay heed to Biblical prophecy nor God’s directives concerning His people and their land.
The Bush Administration's Middle East position.
It included statements to the following:
The Bush Administration is in favor of the United Nations Resolution's 242/338 "land for peace reducing Israel back to the pre-1967 borders.
The entire international community is in favor of the Mitchell Plan (Calling for "land" for "peace")
Israel must end its occupation according to those resolutions and Powell noted that "Occupation" hurts the Palestinians and affects the Israelis.
Israel must accept a viable Palestinian state.
Israeli settlement construction has severely undermined the peace process.
The U.S. opposes all Israeli settlement activity; all settlement construction must stop.
The Israeli settlement activity of the last few years is responsible for part of the terror problems.
Over the years America has given over $1 billion to the corrupt PA (PLO). They have squandered the money, had it leaders pocket it, or sent it to foreign banks. It does NOT go for humanitarian aid. The corruption is so severe that they do not care if their people live in squalor. Why does Washington think this will change, and particularly with Hamas now in control of the PA government? Israel states that any such funding will be channeled to Hamas salaries and military equipment. http://www.olivetreeviews.org/articles/Jans_eUpdates.shtml#newsitemEEuEpVpEuyCtrAgloi
This is scary in light of God’s promise to Abraham, “I will bless them that bless you and curse them that curse you.” I have no doubt that this country has passed the point of no return and we are at a stage in time where we will witness terrible things in the near future.
What Do We Do Now?
As Christians we do what we should have been doing all along. We study the scriptures so that we can show them to others that are looking for answers. We tell others about Christ and salvation so that they will live beyond this life. We get serious about our relationship we say we have with God. We quit playing church and start praying and seeking the Holy Spirit and start operating in the anointing.
The church is full of Christians today that do not know their Bible enough to relate today’s current events with the scriptures. Churches are more concerned with building monuments instead of equipping the people for what is important. Christians have to get back to basics and learn how to relate to the lost and show them the truth of what is happening right in front of us through the Bible.
It is sad that the Mormons and Jehovah’s Witnesses are bigger on soul winning than the Christian church of today. Very few Christians today could challenge a Mormon or J.W. due to their lack of Biblical knowledge.
People we really do not have much time to get where we need to be. We are in a time when it is hard to find truth and faith. Jesus said it would be this way:
Luke 18 8 Nevertheless when the Son of man cometh, shall he find faith on the earth?
I do not want to be a “foolish” virgin as Matthew 25 speaks of, I want to be wise and know where to get the oil that is needed to keep my lamp burning. We must put aside our worries, fears, and what we consider inadequacies and step out in faith and be the witness that we are commanded to be. The lack of time requires it!
In Christ, Adam
