It’s Time to Ring the Bells
Exodus 28: 30-35
In O.T. the high priest would have a rope tied to ankle when going into the Holy of Holies.
A pomegranate is a fruit that has a red pulp inside which was a reminder of the blood needed to cleanse. It is also believed that every pomegranate regardless of size contains exactly 613 seeds, the same number of Old Testament laws. The bells were attached to the bottom of the robe so that the noise of them would be heard when the priest went into the Holy of Holies. If the bells would stop ringing it was probable that the priest was not clean and therefore died in the presence of God. Needless to say it was important, especially for the priest that those bells continued to ring.
There are some bells that we need to start ringing again - they have stopped in several areas and need to be revived.
Ring the Bells of Holiness
Zechariah 14: 16-21
Holiness in our lives, and homes, and churches - Heb.12:14 - without it you wont see God.
Ring the Bells in Our Hearts
Bells of Desire - Luke 22:31
If you do not have the desire for God, satan’s desire for you will pull you down.
Just as satan desired to sift Peter, he also wants to sift each of us and cause us to stumble in every way. It is vitally important to have a strong desire for God so that satan cannot have easy access to place a stumbling block in your way. We need to pray for stronger desires of prayer and studying the Word and winning souls.
Bells of Rededication - John 21: 15-17
Peter became solid as a pillar, once his desire was restored.
There may be someone that has drifted from their walk, if so this is the time to restore them back into the family not condemn them. Peter was told that he would be needed to restore his fellow disciples. We need more restoration in the church today.
Bells of Love - 2 Timothy 3: 1-4
True love - not perverted as the world instigates today
The world has turned love into a cheap lustful thing and perverted it and tries to force acceptance of it on society. The homosexual movement is a classic example of this.
Ring the Bells in our Homes
Bells of Responsibility - Deuteronomy 6: 5-9
To Our children - teach, bring them up in the right way
The Bible makes it very clear that it is the parents responsibility to raise up their children in a spiritual atmosphere. That does not mean that by dropping them off in Sunday School once a week takes care of this responsibility. Parents "MUST" take time with their children at home to instruct them in the ways of God. Pray with them, read with them, talk to them. Don't be mistaken parents, "You Will Answer To God" for how YOU bring up your children.
Bells of Discipline - Proverbs 13:24, 19:18, 22:6
Not only in the home, but in public, in church.
Discipline has been so misrepresented and misapplied and the church has allowed the government and local welfare branches and liberal groups to dictate how we discipline our children. It is a travesty to see how parents are afraid to discipline their children today. The Bible gives us clear instructions to "Spare the Rod is to Spoil the child", and that is exactly the condition of the youth today. As Christians you must decide if you are going to abide by the whims of a liberal society and have no control over your children, or if you are going to follow the Biblical pattern. Consider this also; if you allow society to dictate this area, then how far will you go?
Ring the Bells at the House of God
Bells of Worship - Psalms 95:6, 99:5,9
Not be inhibited in our praise and worship
We have to stop being spiritual detectives in our churches today and wondering who is being genuine in worship and who is not. If everyone were worshipping in sincerity there would be no one that would have time to watch others. If you are busy watching others, then you are not worshipping yourself.
Bells of Respect - Leviticus 19:30, John 2:13-17
We need to instill the respect for the place of worship, respect for the Holy things.
A lot of Christians are Spiritually dead and need to be dragged out from behind the curtain.
We need to start sounding the bells in our Christian walk, not only for those in the church to hear, but the world.
If you need God to revitalize your walk - do it now.
