The First Sin

Genesis 3:1-13

The Subtle Approaches of Sin

Vs. 1 - Sin will approach you - you do not have to go looking for it

Sin will cause you to question the word of God

Vs. 3 - Sin will cause you to add to the word - see 2:17

Vs. 4 - Sin will try to tell you truth is a lie

Vs. 5 - The beginning of the New Age doctrine

Vs. 6 - satan's temptations will cause you to see things in a new way - Eve had seen this tree before but

satan caused her to see three things.

      1. - Appeal to the Natural (Body) - Good for food
      2. - Appeal to the Flesh (Soul) - Pleasant to look upon
      3. - Appeal to the Spirit - Desire to be wise

satan will tempt you completely - body - soul - and spirit

he will also use you to cause others to sin

Vs. 7 - The spirit will convict you and make your condition known - satan will try to get you to think you

should try to take care of your sin instead of confessing it

Fig Leaves - Man's attempt to cover their own sin by their work

Vs. 8 - satan will try to get you to hide from God instead of seeking Him - John 3:19-21

Vs. 9 - God will always seek you - may send a messenger your way

Vs. 10 - The devil will try to make you afraid of God by dwelling on your condition

Vs. 11 - God already knows but will prod you to confess

Vs. 12-13 - Introduction of the human nature and pride - not accepting responsibility - must find someone

to blame
