A Christian friend sent me an article about prayer at football games and a message after that encouraging all Christians to take their stand. As I read messages like those it is encouraging to see others that are out there pushing for 'believers' to stand up an be counted. It is always good to encourage fellow believers to stand strong in their faith. Somehow though it seems to be a message that is climbing a great mountain. Don't get me wrong, I know that there are many out there that are being more open with their faith these days as a result of these types of messages and that is great. It is my personal belief however that there is a much deeper problem that is slowing the process we seek. I am constantly reminded of 2 Chronicles 7:14 which says;

"If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

I am convinced that the majority of 'believers' go to church but are not really 'seeking' God. It is easy to say, "I go to such and such church" or "I follow such and such" but in reality what is really needed is "Repentance" and "Humility" and most importantly "Seeking." We must face the fact that we are in a 'self-fulfilling/serving' society and that 'believers' must be different as Jesus stated that we must "deny ourselves and pick up our cross DAILY and follow Him" I agree with the last article you sent out about the fact that if we Christians stood up and defied the majority that they would not put all of them in jail because of lack of room. I would like to look at a different aspect of that. I believe that if Christians were told as they were in the 'first' church that if they did not stop spreading their belief they were going to be persecuted, beaten, stoned, maybe even killed and then jailed, overcrowding would not be a problem. Our freedom has spoiled us and our comfort has caused us to become lethargic. I may be considered crazy but I invite the persecution because I know for a fact that in the first church that was when the Real Revival broke out and that is what I am after. I am tired of going to the millions of 'man-made' revivals that we have these days, I am ready for a real moving of God and it is not likely until "WE" repent and Pray and Seek HIS face. Interesting concept huh? I am tired of the millions that are playing church instead of being a "Christian." I look at the condition of the church today and the condition of 'Christians' today and I wonder what the early believers would say if they were to walk the earth today. Those that faced death everyday for standing firm in the faith, those that saw their friends and family fed to the lions, those that were stoned, sawn in two, those that were willing to be thrown into the burning furnace, those that refused to stop praying and were cast into a den of lions, are there any of those around today? Would our country be the way it is today if there were some of these Christians around? I pray that God will give me the kind of strength to be that kind of Christian.
