What Can WE Do?
Before reading this page it is extremely helpful if you first visit this page to get a proper understanding:
America's Holocaust
I know that many of you probably think that I have a strange negative view of the "church" world. I have just come to the point that I believe that the church should be "doers and not just hearers" and that does not set well with most. Let me give you an example of what I envision as the "church" and what it could be doing. Starting with the topic of Abortion; what if every church that has an abortion clinic in their city would get volunteers that would simply walk up and down the street in front of the abortion clinic and pray against what is going on? Not talking to anyone, or trying to preach to them, not speaking to anyone, just pray constantly as they walk up and down the street. What if every church in this same situation got volunteers to pass out tracts on this same street daily. Not just to those seeking an abortion, but anyone that passes by. Could God not use this to make a difference? You see, to me this is where the church has drastically missed the mark. This and things like this are the very things that the "church" was established for. Not the fancy orators, and the distinguished services that we see today. Would the Apostles rather sit in one of these churches starchy services or would they rather be on the streets making a difference in people's lives? WE don't have enough time left to argue semantics; the graphics on the abortion page prove that. Millions are dying each day, not just babies, but people that don't know the real meaning of what the "church" is supposed to be. Why is it that the Mormons and Jehovah's Witnesses can go door to door and the "church" sits back and condemns them as "Cults," yet they NEVER operate outside their fancy building walls? You see, if the "church" was really concerned about the innocent lives that are dying and those that are being sucked into these cults that come knocking on their doors, they would be doing something to change that. Talk is not enough and we have proven that every day. The "church" needs to get back to its original setting as the Apostles were in the streets and trenches daily ministering to the people where they were, not waiting for them to come to some "monumental" building each week. The "church" is so far removed from real evangelism that it doesn't even know how to even think of the ways needed to reach the people. WE look at the statistics on Abortion and Pornography, Teen Suicide, Violence, and all the other diseases that plague our society yet do nothing to change it. WE sympathize with what is happening but never do anything to actively correct it. The Bible has much to say about this type of thinking:
James 1
22: But be ye doers of the word, and not hearers only, deceiving your own selves.
26: If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
27: Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
James 2
14: What doth it profit, my brethren, though a man say he hath faith, and have not works? can faith save him?
15: If a brother or sister be naked, and destitute of daily food,
16: And one of you say unto them, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filled; but ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?
17: Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
18: Yea, a man may say, Thou hast faith, and I have works: shew me thy faith without thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my works.
19: Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
20: But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?
The "church" has been Playing Church long enough, it is time to "DO" the work of the ministry. The church has been to concerned about building programs and methods to draw people into these fancy buildings. The church's mentality of success is driven by numbers in the pews, instead of how many are Born Again in those pews. The church is too busy creating more programs to keep the people busy instead of taking them out on the streets and proclaiming the message to the "homeless" and the hurting. There are NO door to door ministries in the church today, but we are quick to condemn the cults. We are too afraid of getting dirty to take the message to the Homeless. We don't tell our people that "We are all called to be disciples and make disciples" because that would include work. We don't want to do anything that would disturb the comfort zones of our people. We don't want to offend because that would mean less in the offering plate, so therefore we do not tell them the truth. We tell them what they want to hear and as a result we cripple them spiritually. The church world today in America is full of Spiritual invalids that are not prepared to engage in any spiritual battle regardless of size. I am sorry and I know that many will disagree with me but I cannot see the Disciples going into any of the churches we have today and being happy with what is happening. I believe that they would proclaim the very thing that Jeremiah did in his day:
Jeremiah 7
1: The word that came to Jeremiah from the LORD, saying,
2: Stand in the gate of the LORD's house, and proclaim there this word, and say, Hear the word of the LORD, all ye of Judah, that enter in at these gates to worship the LORD.
3: Thus saith the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, Amend your ways and your doings, and I will cause you to dwell in this place.
4: Trust ye not in lying words, saying, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, The temple of the LORD, are these.
5: For if ye throughly amend your ways and your doings; if ye throughly execute judgment between a man and his neighbour;
6: If ye oppress not the stranger, the fatherless, and the widow, and shed not innocent blood in this place, neither walk after other gods to your hurt:
7: Then will I cause you to dwell in this place, in the land that I gave to your fathers, for ever and ever.
8: Behold, ye trust in lying words, that cannot profit.
9: Will ye steal, murder, and commit adultery, and swear falsely, and burn incense unto Baal, and walk after other gods whom ye know not;
10: And come and stand before me in this house, which is called by my name, and say, We are delivered to do all these abominations?
11: Is this house, which is called by my name, become a den of robbers in your eyes? Behold, even I have seen it, saith the LORD.
If this is not a perfect picture of the "church" today in America then I don't know what is. It is sickening to watch any of the so-called Christian programs on television and see how these people have exploited the Gospel for gain. They wear designer suites and watches and drive cars worth more than most of the people's homes that they are begging for money from. They rob the people of true spiritually by replacing it with "Gimmicks" and "Quick Fix" avenues to get wealth from God. People today think that today that as long as we go to "church" and pay our tithes and listen to the fancy preacher that we are fine. Most never read their Bibles outside the 'church' and prayer is rare. We are satisfied with the fact that we go and "do God a favor" by being in 'church' every time the doors are open. Regardless of the fact that we are learning absolutely nothing about how to minister to people outside of the monument walls. The church world has created the mentality just as Jeremiah was speaking of in the verses above. People have become accustomed to coming into the building and thinking they are safe because they are there and going through the motions. They have become comfortable coming into the 'house' and believing in "lying words that will not profit them." The growth rate of the Jehovah's Witnesses and the Mormons is astounding, so what have we learned about it?
May God restore HIS "Church" to the Salt it was intended to be!
Sincerely in Christ, Adam
