Lesson #6
Question: Are the other 'gods' real?
Opening Discussion:
Q - What other 'gods' do you know of? What are their names? What makes them a god…what have they done that would qualify them to be called a 'god'?
Wouldn't you consider a 'god' to be something that could do anything? Or at least do things that you cannot do yourself?
What the Bible says:
Isaiah 43; 10
10: Ye are my witnesses, says the LORD, and my servant whom I have chosen: that ye may know and believe me, and understand that I am he: before me there was no God formed, neither shall there be after me.
Isaiah 44: 6
6: Thus says the LORD the King of Israel, and his redeemer the LORD of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; and beside me there is no God.
Isaiah 46: 9
9: Remember the former things of old: for I am God, and there is none else; I am God, and there is none like me,
Mark 12: 32
32: And the scribe said unto him, Well, Master, thou hast said the truth: for there is one God; and there is none other but he:
John 17: 3
3: And this is life eternal, that they might know thee the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom thou hast sent.
James 2: 19
19: You believe that there is one God; you do well: the devils also believe, and tremble.
Q - According to John 17: 3 how many "True" Gods are there?
Q - What does that make every other 'god' that claims to be one?
Q - If God does not recognize any other 'god' do you think that He will recognize any person that follows one of those gods?
Q - Why do you think it is important that there is only One God?
Take this opportunity to explain how there is only One God that can offer eternal salvation.
Offer the chance for acceptance of Christ the way you feel is best in your class situation.
